U.S. telecom stocks are in focus on Tuesday after Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump announced a new mobile phone service called “Trump Mobile” anchored by a $47.45 monthly package they dubbed “The 47 Plan.”

It’s a bold foray into the domestic telecom market that has seen steady growth amid rising demand for 5G connectivity and budget-friendly plans. Trump Mobile includes a flashy, gold-accented smartphone and unlimited data services, blending patriotic imagery with Trump-branded flair.

Top 10 Things to Know About Trump Mobile

  1. The plan’s name and price, $47.45 per month, references Trump’s current role as the 47th U.S. president, and as 45th in his first term.
  2. The plan offers unlimited talk-time, text, and data, plus added perks like roadside assistance and telehealth services, aiming to compete with budget plans from Verizon (VZ) and others.
  3. Trump Mobile will sell a $499 “T1” smartphone – a gold-colored Android 15 device with 12GB of RAM, 256GB storage, and a 50MP main camera – all branded with American symbolism.
  4. Trump Mobile is operated by T1 Mobile LLC under a limited licensing deal. The Trump Organization itself is not involved in design, tech development, or customer support.
  5. Trump Mobile doesn’t have its own infrastructure. It runs on the existing networks of T-Mobile (TMUS), AT&T (T), and Verizon through MVNO partnerships, similar to how Mint Mobile operates.
  6. The plan touts real, U.S.-based human support, though representatives have refrained from confirming exact call center locations, citing “security reasons.”
  7. The 47 Plan includes device protection, pharmacy discounts, international calling to 100+ countries, and Drive America roadside coverage.
  8. While the service is scheduled to launch in September, the T1 phone will hit the market a month earlier, according to the company’s statements.
  9. Like Trump-branded sneakers, cologne, and Bibles, this phone venture is also a part of the family’s merchandise-heavy political ecosystem.
  10. Ethics experts have raised concerns over a sitting president monetizing his political role. Still, Trump disclosed over $8 million in licensing income for 2024, and the brand shows no signs of slowing down.
